Testimonials

“Mr. Myron is such a sweetheart – he boards the dogs in his own home in Old Town. He is extremely patient (even with my gazillion questions and very neurotic self), very gentle with the dogs, and is quite flexible with the pick-up and the drop-off dates – he works with you to see which time would be best, and his rates are definitely comparable, if not competitive, with other dog sitters in the NoVA area. I honestly was comfortable and was not worried when I dropped my pup off for a few days, and Myron always responded to my emails to let me know how she was doing. I highly, highly, highly recommend him, as he is really good as it gets. They also offer dog-walking services, too.”
“We just got back from a few days on vacation, and I had to give this local business a positive review. Courtney from Pawsitive Pets went above and beyond in caring for our two 14-week old kittens over a long weekend. She genuinely likes cats, and spent quite a bit of time with them playing and cuddling. She even sent us picture texts and updates – which, as a nervous new pet owner, I appreciated so much.

After realizing how attention starved our cats were, she was kind enough to stop by more often than we planned. Pawsitive Pets isn’t cheap, but they seem competitive with other pet sitting/dog walking businesses. I felt the cost was absolutely worth the piece of mind knowing our cats were in good hands.”

“I wanted to write this review since most of Pawsitive Pets’ reviews are a bit outdated and they seem to be catered more towards dog families. Well, cat families, have no fear… Pawsitive Pets takes great care of cats as well!

I’m new to the DMV area, and since I travel quite frequently for work I had been searching for a great pet sitter since I arrived. I’m so glad I found Pawsitive Pets! Pawsitive Pets cared after my beloved Maine Coon cat during a weeklong visit to the United Kingdom in August 2011.

Myron (owner) and Brooke (employee) took such great care of my Maine Coon cat, Simba! Upon contacting Myron to arrange an initial consultation he was extremely friendly and professional, and his employee, Brooke, who cared for my cat was awesome! When Myron and Brooke came to meet Simba for the initial consultation I immediately felt at ease since Simba took an initial liking towards Brooke. When I came home from my trip Simba’s demeanor seemed so pleasant – which I attribute to Brooke’s great care. Brooke fed him, changed his water, changed his litter, played with him, brushed/groomed him, and even collected the mail.

I will definitely use Pawsitive Pets again!”

“I’ve been looking for a dog walker in Alexandria, and really struggled to find one. Dog walkers tend not to have personal websites, so you have to find them word of mouth. That’s how I found Myron and Pawsitive Pets.

Myron was helpful from the moment I called him. He really wanted to know my needs and my dog’s needs. He then offered a variety of options that could work with my lifestyle. Even though, I initially was looking for someone to walk my dog, we figured out that our best option was for him to look after my pup at his house for 3-4 hours a day.

Myron’s got a big house, and a huge backyard filled with lots of doggie toys, and 8 foot tall cement walls, so you never have to worry about your dog escaping!

I’m really happy with the service, and now my dog gets to socialize with lots of other dogs, gets trips to the dog park, and lots of outdoor exercise time! This is exactly what he needed!”

“I was looking for daycare for my very small, young (9 months), fearful dog and Pawsitive Pets gets my recommendation. The great row house on N Patrick is easily accessed from all over the Old Town/Braddock Rd area. And there is an alley right behind it that’s convenient for picking up pets at the end of the day.

Pets are both indoors and in the large backyard, which, as mentioned in previous review, has secure walls to keep pets in. Most of the dogs were medium or medium/large dogs, but I didn’t worry about my dog because they were all sociable, non-aggressive dogs.

Myron takes note of each dog’s personality and needs and keeps a safe and low-stress environment; he is honest & pleasant to do business with; he offered a lot of great advice re: helping my dog adjust to his new environment.
The day care rate ($35) and dog walking rate ($18) seemed reasonable for this area–as Myron was extremely accommodating about drop-off and pick-up times and even takes the dogs to the dog park when the weather’s good.

Overnight care, which is also available, is something I’ll plan to do the next time I go out of town, as I feel the home-like environment has to be much easier on the dogs than a kennel or veterinary office. Overall great experience.”
